EVOC-Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (Ambulance). This course qualifies EVOC trainers to conduct the National Standard Curriculum. The course will qualify instructors to present the classroom portion of the training and provide an orientation to the practical driving exercises. Each participant will act as a student and coach for ambulance driving exercises.

AITS, Inc Train-the-Trainer (T3) Course Resource Materials CD-ROM

American Integrated Training Systems, Inc. has developed the 2007 Training Resources Material CD-ROM that is used to support the conduct of Emergency Vehicle Operator training. This CD-ROM is copyrighted by AITS, Inc. The 2007 CD has added items 4 - 7 and the PowerPoint presentation of Decontamination of an Ambulance.

1.  US Department of Transportation (DOT) Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC):  (Ambulance) National Standard Curriculum, Instructor Guide and Participant Manual.  These documents were designed to be edited for local use.

2. PowerPoint Visuals with and without Instructor Tips to support the conduct of the EVOC operator course.  PowerPoint visuals for a class on Decontamination of an Ambulance.  This presentation was developed by Orlando Alcordo, Director of Training, PMT Ambulance Company, Mesa, Arizona.

3.  US General Services Administration (GSA) Federal Specification for the Star-of-Life Ambulance, KKK-A-1822E.  An ambulance must meet this specification to display the Star-of-Life symbol on the ambulance.  This symbol is normally applied on the ambulance by the ambulance manufacturing company.

4.  Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) FA197 Document: Developing Effective Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Fire and EMS Departments.  This is a comprehensive guide to assist organizations prepare and revise SOPs.

5. US Department of Transportation, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Guide for Interfacility Patient Transfer.  This document provides general guidance, references and ideas for optimal delivery of care between healthcare facilities.

6.  US Department of Transportation Guidelines for EMS Educators.   A solid reference that provides information and examples for developing effective training materials.

7.  Certificate of Completion form.  This form allows the instructor to fill in location, date and instructor name and the name of the person who has successfully completed the course. This may be used by those trainers who have completed the American Integrated Training Systems, Inc. (AITS) EVOC Train the Trainer Course.  The AITS, Inc. qualified trainers must conduct the EVOC operator level course using the US DOT National Standard Curriculum (NSC) for the classroom and vehicle operations.
